Moorhen have been working very hard on their butterfly, fairy and elf themed garden.

As part of our learning about the Olympics, we have been making torches from nets in Maths and made Olympic crowns in Art.

As an exit point for our Made In China quest, we held a showcase to display our musical talents. The children who performed were outstanding!

Moorhen Class had the most amazing World Book Day. We dressed as the characters from our favouritre books.

We have been looking at making arrays to help us learn our multiplication facts.

Today (25.01.12) we learned about Robert Burns, the famous Scottish Poet. We joined Mrs Fellows for some Scottish Country Dancing!

Today (23.01.12) Moorhen Class celebrated Chinese New Year - The year of the Dragon.

We followed instructions to make these Chinese dragons.

We have been learning to measure mass and follow instructions. We made fairy cakes for Mrs Vincent's birthday and Chinese tea to taste.

In Literacy we have been writing instructions on how to make masks. We then followed them to make these Chinese Opera masks.

PCSO Tim Richards gave us some more high visability jackets to keep us safe on our walks.

We are all very proud of Rex who has been awarded the school Courtesy Cup for being so well mannered and polite at all times.

We have been investigating 3D shape recently in Moorhen Class.

22nd November 2011
Today Moorhen and Mallard Classes visited @Bristol to learn more about Space. We had an absolutely fantastic day.

We had a really great day at Station Farm, collecting, tasting and crushing a variety of apples.

Today (20.10.11) we had lots of fun carving our pumpkins!

Today (11.10.11) we had a visit from the Police to talk to us about keeping ourselves safe with the dark nights approaching. We talked about Road Safety and Stranger Danger.

As part of our science, we have been looking at nocturnal animals. We made bat boxes with Mr Dyga and also made some (very sparkly!) owl masks.

Mr and Mrs Hallett bought in 'Bird' their Harris Hawk. It was great to learn all about her.

As part of our Light and Dark science topic, we made shadow puppets with Mrs King.

Today (27.09.11), Moorhen class had a furry visitor! Kieran brought his new rabbit to school. We found out how to care for rabbits and what they like to eat.

Moorhen Class give their new classroom table and chairs a big thumbs up!

Today (14.09.11) we launched our new learning quest 'To Infinity & Beyond'.
We had a great day full of space adventures!

2010 -2011 School Year

Yesterday we took the year 1 and 2 children on a visit to Bristol. We went to the Mosque in Easton to learn all about Islam and then went to the Bristol musuem and art gallery. The children had a fantastic day learning about muslims and looking at all the artifacts and animals.
