Station Farm - Summer 2013
We had a visit from Mr. Franks to tell us all about dairy farming.....he even brought his tractor in!
We had PC Hucks and Dr. James come in to talk to us about their jobs.
Our visits to Blade's Farm
Martha's mum came in to teach us all about dog agility with Alfie and Lola.
As part of Aspirations Week, Harriett's mum came in to talk to us about her hobby. She came in dressed as a lady from the Women's Land Army and showed us lots of memorabilia from people who made their mark in the Second World War.
We had a really enjoyable time at the Rural Life Museum in Glastonbury

Isabella went to the museums in London and brought us back a packet of freeze dried strawberries to try. We thought they were very sweet and delicious.
Harriett brought in a newspaper article telling about thousands of dolphins that had been spotted together in the Pacific Ocean. It inspired us to carry out some dolphin themed learning.
In Moorhen Class we have been learning about the grisly secrets of Richard III's lost grave. We linked this learning to our Science and labelled parts of the skeleton. In our Outdoor Education session, we then drew the bones and made a skeleton from sticks.
We have enjoyed taking part in the RSPB Big Bird Watch.
We had excellent fun discovering all about dinosaurs in the Dinodome.

Moorhen Class had a visit from Fizzy Ian from the Fizz Pop Science company. We investigated a crime scene and were shown how to take our fingerprints.

We entered a 'design a dream' competition as part of our study of Roald Dahl's BFG story. We are delighted that Daisy beat 3000 other applicants with her creativity to make it to the final 20!

The Moorhens enjoying an energetic PE session.
Teacher Fang came to visit us. He showed us some Tai Chi and talked to us about Chinese symbols.
We entered the Bigsby story competition ..... fingers crossed we win!
We had a visit from Steve the Storyteller. He dressed up as the baker, Thomas Farynor, to tell us all about the Great Fire of London in 1666 that started in his shop in Pudding Lane.
We celebrated Talk Like A Pirate Day!!!
We had a visit from Fire Officer Ian to talk to us about keeping safe in our homes and to tell us all about Fire Plans.
